My grandfather was an engineer, so when my siblings & I were growing up, he would let us play with batteries, light bulbs, microscopes, and other gadgets, which helped us develop a very tactile & intuitive sense of how stuff worked. I’d always wanted to be an artist, but with his influence I chose to pursue the middle-ground between art and engineering: architecture. Now I spend my time trying to come up with creative solutions to practical problems.

In my spare time, I’m trying not to fall off my bike riding in the winter and training for a marathon. I’m perfecting my dishwashing skills, obsessively adjusting the lighting in our apartment and cabin, and daydreaming about geothermal heat. I’m also reading trashy detective novels, talking to pets, hosting and attending dinner parties, and playing underwater hockey (a real thing).
