We’re honored to have a talented and dynamic team at Bray – including Nate Stark, project leader & architect who is celebrating 15 years with us! We took a quick break to congratulate Nate and ask him a few questions about his last fifteen years with us.

Q: Over the course of 15 years at Bray, what have you learned?

A: Throughout my 15 years at Bray, I’ve learned a lot about effective communication. Whether it’s early schematic discussions with a client or a late-stage construction detail with a contractor, a lot of great team members have helped me grow in knowing what to communicate, how to present it, and with whom it needs to be shared. As an architect who works on the technical side of things, communication is crucial when collaborating with team members and clients.

Q: What do you like most about Bray?

A: As I previously mentioned, I owe a lot to the more experienced team members that have guided me over the years. When I think back to some of the tasks and roles I had when I started at Bray compared to what I currently do, I appreciate the patience, understanding, and the time they invested in me. I hope to be able to pass some of that grace and generosity they showed me on to newer staff members in positions similar to where I started.

Q: How would you describe your team?

A: We’re a busy team with talents in many different areas, but we still manage to have fun. Being a part of a team where a lot of us have worked together for many years creates cohesiveness and consistency. It’s also allowed us to get to know one another’s strengths and weaknesses and create a hard-working, collaborative team.

Q: Favorite project you’ve worked on so far, and why?

A: Sevastopol School District was a wonderful project to work on. It started with a great client that knew their community well and was able to guide us to a solution that matched community expectations. The most rewarding part is the trust the client had in our design strategy, allowing us to explore new innovative ideas for their K-12 facility.
