The Salvation Army of Oshkosh Groundbreaking Ceremony

We were excited to join The Salvation Army of Oshkosh, WI, as they hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, June 3, 2021, to commence the organization’s Community Center addition and renovation project.

After nearly six years of dedicated planning, The Salvation Army of Oshkosh is ready to break ground on an addition and renovation project in response to overwhelming facility needs. One particular focus of The Salvation Army is providing food to the community, helping nourish the body, in addition to the soul and mind. At their Oshkosh location, the staff offers both a meal program and a food pantry for families in need. This addition will approximately double their existing space.

An extensive site search was conducted, and they acquired property adjacent to their existing building. The current facility at 417 Algoma Blvd. will remain partially operational during construction while many of their programs will be shifted to an off-site, rented.

Partnered with Miron Construction Co., Inc., site preparation has begun, and construction is set to be complete in February of 2022. The specifications of the renovations will include:

First Floor

    • An updated cafeteria and serving area
    • A new auditorium/chapel
    • An updated nursery/childcare space
    • Multiple updated classrooms/meeting rooms
    • Updated administration and social worker offices
    • Updated men’s and women’s restrooms
    • A new multipurpose room to accommodate the Salvation Army’s annual events such as the coat and toy drives

Lower Level

    • A new elevator
    • A renovated food and retail pantry
    • A new receiving and storage area with a loading dock
