Sustainable Design/Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED®)
Integration of sustainable/green technologies, finishes and practices is part and parcel of our approach. Typically, each Bray project is designed to a minimum LEED® Silver baseline, whether or not our client chooses to pursue certification. Of particular interest:
- Multiple Bray projects have scored in the upper 90th percentile on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Energy Star rating system. Recent projects include the Mount Pleasant Village Hall and Police Department, and Creekside Elementary School in Sun Prairie, which received a 99% rating. Projects that earn EPA’s Energy Star use on average 35% less energy and generate 35% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than similar buildings.
- We have guided nine clients through the LEED® Certification process, resulting in six certifications ranging from Silver to Platinum, in addition to three projects awaiting certification
- Geothermal HVAC is a proven system with a typical payback of 7-10 years. This particular sustainable technology is considered by all of our clients when planning their new buildings or renovations. We have designed over 2 million square feet of geothermal HVAC currently in operation throughout Wisconsin, with another 400,000 square feet in design or under construction.
