Increasing access to natural light
The District and Bray worked together to provide access to natural light to as many classroom as possible. Over half of the existing school’s classrooms had no access to natural light. There were many different solutions for providing natural light to classrooms but the final choice install a large skylight above the open collaboration space to give light to the classrooms below. The District wanted to focus on connectivity, which drove the decision to add large glass sliding doors between the classrooms and collaboration spaces that can be used by the students and teachers. Some of key changes in the renovation portion, were the changing the cafeteria into the library and the library the large collaboration space and learning stair.
