Proven Approach: Referendum Support

Community engagement doesn’t end during the planning process. In our experience, successful referenda are the result of a unified message and months of planning and implementation.

Bray’s proven approach to referendum support has resulted in an 82% success rate in the past five years. Three steps which lead to success include:

  1. Step 1: Strategize. Create a focused and effective message and strategically deploy it throughout the community to create awareness and urgency.
  2. Step 2: Mobilize. Activate the community engagement and communications efforts developed in step one and be present at as many events and engagement sessions as possible.
  3. Step 3: Energize. Focus all efforts on face-to-face engagement to ensure voter turnout, absentee balloting, and undecided voters have information to make an informed decision.
