2020 Icon of Construction and Rising Young Professional Awards

We are proud to share that The Daily Reporter has recognized Matt Wolfert, President, and Maria Welch, Senior Project Specialist, in a 2020 Icon of Construction and a Rising Young Professional awards, respectively.

The Rising Young Professionals and Icons of Construction awards recognize industry professionals who have demonstrated leadership, contributed to their community, and successfully achieved positive outcomes in their career. Matt and Maria will be awarded for their impact on the design and construction community on March 25 at The Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee, WI, along with 24 of their industry peers.

Matthew D. Wolfert, AIA, NCARB, LEED® AP | Icon of Construction

Matt has worked in the AEC industry for over 23 years and has dedicated his career to enhancing school districts and communities across Wisconsin. As an architect, business owner, and referendum strategist, his impact reaches beyond building design. Matt’s leadership has provided mentorship to employees and aspiring professionals as well as successful referenda and funding initiatives for communities. Over two decades of Matt’s impact on communities and educational environments can be seen across Wisconsin, supporting his recognition as an Icon of Construction.

Maria Welch, Assoc. AIA | Rising Young Professional

Maria’s positive impact on the community is demonstrated through her strategic approach to design development. With just over five years in the industry, she has honed her skills to design functional, inspiring spaces throughout Wisconsin – including the state’s first net-zero school for which she was an integral member of the design team. Maria’s persistence in finding strategic design solutions shows her dedication to inspiring clients and communities in the present, and her confidence and leadership skills demonstrate her effort to continue this impact as a future leader in the industry.

We congratulate and thank both Matt and Maria for their contributions and leadership to Bray, and the Wisconsin design and construction community as a whole.
