In the Fall of 2015, the Winneconne Community School District conducted a district-wide survey to gather input regarding the high school facilities. The survey determined that the Winneconne High School Auditorium was one of the areas most in need of improvements. After passing a $12,500,000 referendum the school began updating the auditorium to better accommodate the students and staff that utilize the space on a daily basis.
The auditorium now features seating for 600 people, a lobby and large gathering space. It is also equipped with a full-fly loft and a modified orchestra pit. Finally, enhancements were made to the scene shop and changing rooms ideal for theater students during performances.
The upgrades at Winneconne High School Auditorium create a cohesive space for the students who utilize the theater most frequently and creates and inclusive environment for spectators visiting the theater for a show or performance.
