In the Fall of 2015, the Winneconne Community School District conducted a district-wide survey to gather input regarding its high school facilities. The survey determined that the existing technology wing and a new auditorium at Winneconne High School were the most pressing needs. A successful $12.5 million referendum in April 2016 allowed the District to move forward with additions and renovations to address these priorities.
The new auditorium includes a lobby, gathering space, and seating for 600. The stage has a full-fly loft as well as a modified orchestra pit. It also features a new scene shop and dressing rooms for use during performances.
The STEAM addition and renovation introduces flexible learning spaces that can be easily modified based on courses being offered. New woods and metals classrooms were added along with a Project Lead the Way lab, additional art classrooms, and design, fabrication and computer labs.
The Winneconne High School project also included 1,000 square feet of renovation to spaces adjacent to the new auditorium and a 1,926 square foot Business Education addition.
