University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield sought to create a new, innovative STEM center for its rapidly growing programs. Positioned at the forefront of the university, the addition creates a new “front door” to the campus. The floor-to-ceiling panel of glass windows creates a sense of transparency and displays student life, engagement and activity. It houses space for chemistry, microbiology and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program students, providing ample space for department resources and labs to accommodate distance education learning opportunities. The center of the building is a large, open community gathering and collaboration space.

The existing Aldo Leopold Science Building at the Marshfield Campus received renovations to its geography, geology and biology areas. To maximize the renovated space, a staircase was removed to make way for a connection between the existing building and the new addition. Small collaborative lounge spaces were then added throughout the connection.
