The Salvation Army of Oshkosh outgrew their current building which no longer met the needs of the organization. After a five-year site search, they acquired property adjacent to their existing building on which to expand the current building. The location and will remain operational throughout the construction of the addition and renovation.
The Community Center strives to provide food security to the community, offering both an in-house cafeteria and food pantry for families in need. The new building will include a cafeteria, kitchen, food pantry, large food processing area with a loading dock, and a storage warehouse. The Center will also include a chapel, nursery/childcare space, classrooms, meeting rooms, administration offices, and social worker meeting rooms. A large, open, multipurpose room in the basement was also designed to accommodate large community events such as coat and toy drives.
