Bray Architects completed programming, architectural/engineering, master planning, and interior design services for the South Shore Fire Department Fire Station No. 8.
The new building replaced an existing fire station that was sold to make way for a major commercial development. The building is designed to house two engine companies and two emergency medical services rigs. Programmatic requirements include:
• Three (3) drive through apparatus bays
• Six (6) offices for department command staff
• Five (5) bunk rooms
• Day room/lounge with attached kitchen
• Fitness center
• Master Plan for additional bunks, a training/hose drying tower, and a vehicle maintenance bay with storage and work space
