Franciscan Center for Music Education + Performance

Situated in the Northwest quadrant of Silver Lake College’s main campus the Center houses the school’s successful Music Department in addition to a 460 seat auditorium. The programmatic components of the Music Department
facility include:

  • Studios for band, choral, piano/keyboard, computer, a music classroom, small recital, and varying sized practice spaces.
  • Faculty offices for the Music Department staff.
  • Support spaces such as storage, conference room(s) and lounge.
  • Space for the Holy Family Conservatory of Music that will be relocating to the campus from their current location in downtown Manitowoc.

Outside, adjacent to the Entry Lobby, are several social and educational spaces. These areas act as extensions of the classroom while also activating the energy level within the center of campus. This allows the building and its related functions to utilize this high level of visibility and related activity. This space includes outdoor plazas, gardens, and open gathering spaces for students, faculty and the community alike.
