Natural light fills the space through once-infilled windows replaced with a new energy efficient storefront framing with an industrial aesthetic. The original brick walls were sandblasted to reveal a beautiful mixture of red and cream city bricks. Restored gambrel steel roof trusses give the space volume with a ceiling height of 22’ at its peak. The polished concrete floors, steel mezzanine railings and exposed wood ceilings all illustrate its history. 1962 is stained into the concrete at the entrance commemorating the year the firm began.
The interior concept is a layering of textures, where every material choice links the character of the existing building with the new, polished palette. New workstations focus on collaboration with shared standing height surfaces and opportunities for flexible teaming. A private nursing suite is provided for mothers and a shower serves our growing number of bicycle commuters.
The adjacent 14-stall parking lot with outdoor patio provide amenities and outdoor work and relaxation spaces.
