We’re excited to share that Kara Albrecht, Assoc. AIA, is named a 2022 Women in Construction honoree by The Daily Reporter!

The Women in Construction awards recognize the top women in the industry who have outstanding achievements, leading the way for future women in their career paths.

Throughout Kara’s eight years at the firm, she’s led and coordinated architectural and engineering assessments of existing facilities, evaluating millions of square feet of PreK-12 educational spaces in support of master planning efforts.

She’s led facility condition assessments for districts of all sizes, including the additions and renovations for Mukwonago High School and Whitnall High School.

In addition to leading facility assessments, she also leads space programming, educational planning, and conceptual design efforts for our clients. Her expertise with school district clients who are increasing enrollment, declining enrollment, or remaining stable is essential to success as each requires different perspectives and solutions.

Kara’s approach of listening to clients’ needs and providing them with a detailed facility assessment, ensures that school districts and communities we serve have the information they need to make the most informed decisions about their construction projects.

While Kara leads many efforts within the firm, a big part her role includes leading the predesign team, guiding them through facility assessments and the preparation of master planning documents. She recognizes that their professional success is amplified by personal growth, checking in with her team on a regular basis making sure they have the resources needed to succeed.

“Kara brings such a light and joy to the office. She comes to work every day with a positive attitude and a willingness to work and help others. She is passionate about her work and the work we do as a firm,” says Miranda Hassler, project coordinator.

Kara currently oversees the entire predesign efforts for Davenport Community School District, in which she recently led her team through an extensive facility study document for the district.

“Kara’s always willing to listen and find ways to improve our team,” says Kate Hamman, senior project coordinator.

We’re proud of Kara for her continued commitment to our clients and being a leader within our firm and the industry.

Congratulations, Kara!
