Emma Rudd is a project specialist at Bray and is currently working on the Mercer County School District project.

Throughout her first year at Bray, she’s enjoyed learning about the education sector – a market she hadn’t previously worked in. “Learning about schools and being able to design them has truly been a rewarding experience,” Emma said.

Her team has also been another wonderful aspect of working at Bray. “We’re a quirky, funny team, and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” she says. With her team members spread out across all three office locations, virtual communication is key. “Each person’s sense of humor and continuous effort to get to know one another makes coordination easy,” she mentioned. Emma especially enjoys their monthly team meetings that often include fun ‘get to know you’ games.

One of Emma’s favorite projects in the last year has been the Westosha Central High School renovations and addition. “I dropped right into the middle of the construction document phase my first week at Bray, and it really allowed me to dive deep into detailing and learning about the building,” she says. Not having a lot of opportunities to work on exterior envelopes previously, she enjoyed being able to work from the ground up on the project. “The district’s excitement about the new design is the most rewarding part,” Emma mentioned. With the project currently under construction, Emma looks forward to seeing the final product!

Outside of work, Emma keeps herself busy by volunteering for the HPI (Historic Preservation Institute) at UW-Milwaukee SARUP, and the Wisconsin Westie Rescue (where she is also a board member). When she’s not volunteering, Emma practices Brazilian jiu-jitsu, enjoys the outdoors and hiking, and occasionally records music for the symphonic metal band she’s a part of called Maledictis – check them out!
