AJ Zandt is the marketing content specialist who shares all the great things happening at Bray through multiple channels: employee spotlights, social media posts, award submissions and project descriptions for Bray’s website. AJ helps Bray earn recognition for the firm’s hard work.
While AJ’s background is in art and design, he also enjoys writing. After receiving his undergraduate degree in architecture, he held a marketing/communications role where he became interested in writing about design.
AJ enjoys many aspects of his role, including the ability to interact and meet with team members in different departments across the firm. “Connecting with the project teams and learning about the work that we are a part of excites me, because I get to take the architectural design of a project and create a story about it to share with our audience.”
There’s not a day that goes by where AJ is not seeking opportunities to learn. “I really do like learning. Whether it’s about the projects Bray is working on or the people within the industry, I look forward to learning something new every day.” Being a part of the marketing team at Bray has also provided him many opportunities to learn. “This team is wonderful to work with. We learn so much from one another and help each other – It’s a great team to be a part of!”
One of the projects that AJ is most proud of and takes the lead on are the employee spotlights. “People are the real drivers of the firm and I get to recognize and honor their efforts through writing the employee spotlights.” The spotlights provide an opportunity to learn about the people that make up Bray. “It’s fascinating to hear about everyone’s background, especially those who came to architecture or interior design from other fields. We have a diverse range of talent here at Bray.”
AJ’s 14-month-old daughter takes up a lot of his time and energy outside of work, but he wouldn’t want it any other way. “My wife and I just witnessed her first steps, which was a great milestone to see.” She will soon (or so he hopes!) be helping him in their garden which grows a variety of vegetables every year. When he gets a few moments to himself, you can find him in his home art studio, which has a printing press and a weaving loom.
