Community Gathers for Port Washington High School Tour

June 6, 2017
Port Washington High School Community Gathering and Tour

On Wednesday, May 31, over 200 community members and students gathered at Port Washington High School to tour the recently completed academic addition and library renovation. Community members were able to walk the halls and get a first glimpse of the brand new spaces in the high school tour that will be ready for the start of the 2017-18 school year.

The addition/renovation is part of a $45.6 million, three-phased project at the high school. The three-story academic addition links to the existing school, offering sweeping views of the surrounding area while allowing an abundance of natural light to pour into the new classrooms. The library is now a spacious and vibrant, two-tier learning environment equipped with stairs designed to offer an informal seating option, as well as spaces for collaboration and group work.

The completion of the academic addition and library marks a milestone at Port Washington High School, and allows for the start of phase two which is scheduled to be complete in December of 2018. The third and final phase will wrap up in the spring/summer of 2019.
