Bray Architects Acquires BHMM to Strengthen Midwest Presence

Bray Architects recently acquired Bracke.Hayes.Miller.Mahon (BHMM), an architectural design and planning firm, based in Moline, Ill. BHMM has served clients throughout Illinois and Iowa for nearly 60 years. Mark D. Miller, AIA, and John A. Mahon, AIA, partners of the company, will both join the Bray Architects’ team.

“Mark and John built a distinguished firm that has prospered independently for 58 years, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Bray family. There are synergies across the board, including our mutual areas of expertise, length of time in business and Midwestern values – that couldn’t align any more perfectly,” said Matt Wolfert, AIA, NCARB, LEED® AP, Bray Architects’ President. We’re excited to collaborate with them as we grow our footprint in the Quad Cities and throughout Illinois and Iowa.”

Similar to Bray, BHMM’s area of focus spans religious, education, institutional and commercial buildings. Notable BHMM projects include the Sacred Heart Cathedral expansion in Davenport, Iowa, Silvis Police Department in Silvis, Ill., The Modern townhouse development in Moline, Ill., and the Eagle Ridge Elementary School in Carbon Cliff, Ill.

“We’re excited to combine forces with Bray Architects, as we couldn’t wish for a team that more closely aligns with the BHMM ways of doing business,” said John Mahon. “We’re proud to join an ambitious company looking to extend its reach in the Midwest and beyond. The opportunity to offer expanded services to our clients was exactly what we were seeking.”

In addition to the acquisition that will expand Bray’s presence in Moline, Ill, the firm officially opened its new Davenport, Iowa, office (220 Emerson Place), solidifying its focus and commitment to doing business throughout Illinois and Iowa. Bray also has offices in Milwaukee and Sheboygan, Wis.
