Sheboygan County
Work Release Detention Center
Sheboygan, Wisconsin
The new detention center has a capacity of 287 beds. Special design considerations were given to the central control station within each housing pod so that a single detention officer can control and observe the pod from one location.
The core or support areas are designed to meet the needs of a 640 bed adult and 30-bed juvenile facility in the future. The facility also includes intake, isolation, segregation and medical units. The project also contained three discipline cells, an eight bed isolation unit, ten special purpose cells, a video conference room for remote testimony, and a visitor area.
