Bray Architects is working with the District on a project that will add significant physical education and athletic space to the north end of the existing high school.
The approximately 35,000 square foot addition will include:
• Two-station competition gymnasium with bleacher seating for 1,400. The bleachers will be on all four sides of the competition basketball/volleyball court to create an arena feel
• Four locker rooms two physical education and two team
• 3,100 square foot fitness center to house weight and cardio equipment
• Shared indoor/outdoor lobby that allows access to toilet rooms and the concession stand for events in the gymnasium as well as football and baseball games
• Health/physical education/community classroom
• Ample storage for physical education, athletics and outdoor programs
The new addition will be framed on the east by the Districtıs bus garage, on the north by the baseball field, and on the west by School Drive.
As part of the project, renovation of the existing high school will also occur, including:
• Conversion of the existing weight room/fitness center to an agriculture classroom
• Renovation of an existing classroom to a finishing room and conference room
• Adaptation of the existing gymnasium to better support the performing arts
• HVAC improvements in the technology education area
