University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac
Fond du Lac, Wisconsin
The expansion and remodeling of UW-Fond du Lac was the first major upgrade since its construction in 1967. This project created a completely new campus identity, unifying the existing building complex by creating a new "front door" for the campus. This was accomplished by a building addition that houses a student commons, auditorium, music suite, and library, along with student and community meeting rooms.
The overall scope and direction of the project was the result of extensive campus master planning. The science department's expansion and remodeling was for the physics, anatomy, chemistry, biology, geology and earth science laboratories.
The renovation of multiple existing buildings included new finishes, mechanical, electrical and instructional technology and communication systems. Also, revised site circulation highlights and protects the campuses natural features and creates a new focus on environmental awareness/studies.
Additions: 60,391 square feet
Renovation: 99,258 square feet
Awards: One of three schools nationwide to receive a Post-Secondary Citation from American School & University Magazine
