Greenfield Public Library
Greenfield, Wisconsin

In our communities, libraries provide a pivotal public service on which our residents depend for critical social programs and literacy services. Greenfield, like many communities, quickly outgrew its previous library building and worked tirelessly with Bray Architects in an effort to gain approval and funding for this new facility.

The Greenfield Public Library takes advantage of the former Greenfield Police Facility. The existing, 19,000 square foot building was completely renovated including new mechanical, electrical, technology and plumbing systems.

The 19,200 square foot addition includes an atrium/lobby space that links the single story existing building with the two-story addition. The first floor of the addition houses the circulation desk, children's library, a 100-seat community room, a conference room, and support spaces.

The second floor, with open views and natural light from the atrium/lobby, houses the fiction collection, periodicals, a lounge with soft seating and a coffee machine, the teen and young adult section, and the Greenfield Historical Society's archive space.
