City of Greenfield celebrates dedication
Milwaukee, WI / July, 2009 On July 4, 2009 Bray Architects joined the City of Greenfield in dedicating the new Greenfield Public Library. This significant civic project has been considered for many years in Greenfield and finally became reality because of hard work by a citizen's fundraising committee, library staff, and Bray Architects. The 38,200 square foot building's design adds yet another level of civic pride for each citizen who passes through its doors, enjoys its views, or settles in to read next to its fireplace. The library houses a large children's collection, multiple study rooms, a teen zone, historical society archives, as well as ample computers and wireless internet access. The building also features a state-of-the-art Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system to track, sort and locate materials within the library – a first for the library. The new library represents the final building project on the City's municipal services complex. Bray has worked with the City over the past 5+ years on the new Public Safety Building and renovations to both the Fire Station and Department of Public Works Buildings – all of which share the site with the new Greenfield Public Library.
