Building Information Modeling (B.I.M.) is the next generation of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software, taking modeling beyond line drawings on paper into 3-D models of entire buildings with specific parameters assigned to each wall, door and window. This model is then used to create plans, sections and elevations for projects, eliminating the constant coordination issues of traditional CAD programs.

Benefits of B.I.M
Allows design, engineering professionals and contractors to better communicate ideas and more effectively coordinate their individual disciplines.
Our team is able to instantly analyze project data, designs, sizes and schedules after changes to the model have been made.
Problems can be identified and solved earlier in the design process, thereby limiting the number of changes in the field.
As an essential tool in the green building process, B.IM. assists in accurately analyzing the environmental impact of the building.
Allows owners and user groups to better understand the third dimension much earlier in the design process, encouraging their active participation in the overall development of the building concept.

Building Information Modeling represents a radical change in the project approach for the entire design and construction industry, and it is rapidly being adopted by architects, engineers and construction companies. Bray was one of the first architectural firms in Wisconsin to implement B.I.M. software into our practice. Our specialists have been using Autodesk’s Revit software since 2004 and now utilize B.I.M. on every project.
